Metal and Bible School

Better, but not 100%: Tim and Jenna remain on the "not quite better" list.  All the others were back at work today and feeling great.  Tim and Jenna were feeling OK; both did some work, but were feeling tired.  Shirley is a great nurse, so Tim and Jenna are well cared for.

Bending metal: Most of the work today was making rebar for pouring cement columns and mixing cement to start the columns.  There were several groups bending, hammering, cutting, and attaching thick metal wire to long reinforced steel bars.  There are up to 30 wire rings per rebar and 29 rebars, so we need lots of bending and cutting done.  All by hand.

Others painted a Sunday School room.  The idea is that, by tomorrow, it can be a room with trees on the walls and flowers hand painted by each of us (signed, of course).

The Winds did several runs to Comitan (about as far away as Grand Rapids is from Holland).  They had to buy groceries and exchange money and several other chores.  They know the way very well by now.

Bible School starts: At 3:00 pm, the work stopped.  Showers were taken and people rested.  By 3:00 pm, we were at Bible School.  We took crafts for the Bible School, and Shelly was busily setting up the stations for craft work.  The kids started coming about 4:00 and we started soon after.  We sang Spanish songs (we actually only did the motions).  Pastor Serafin told the story of David and Goliath and we followed up with a craft that made each kid a crown.  Some fun indoor games followed and we all left about 6:00 pm for supper.

Down time: The evening was free time.  We played some great rounds of Catchphrase, had devotions, and sang songs, and went to bed.
