Blocks and More Blocks

Health Report: Jenna is slowly getting better but Pastor Tim is still feeling a bit queasy and weak.

More Work: More rebar was installed today.  With the Mexican workers, we mixed cement in the yard and moved rocks to help anchor the rebar in the cement.  We bent wire to reinforce the rebar and made clips to secure the wire.

In addition, we added our own signature to the Sunday School room.  In addition to filling the room with painted trees and bugs, we all painted flowers across the bottom of the walls.  Each of us decorated two flowers and signed our names.

Blocks: The new Sunday School rooms we are building are built from cinder block.  We made four runs to get 2200 cinder blocks for the new structure.  As we unloaded the truck, we made a "cinder block brigade" line and stacked them all in the yard of the church.

FYI: Each block is made by hand and costs 3.50 pesos or 35 cents.  The folks that make the blocks can turn out 55 per hour (by hand...).

Bible School: We had Bible SChool again today -- complete with a puppet show starring Mandy and Kari.  Or at least their hands.

Night Service: At night we had a church service that focused on parents and their relationships with children.  Shirley gave the talk.  At night, we sat around our courtyard and learned more about Pastor Sarafin -- the pastor of the church we are working with.  We found out how his wife and he met and learned more about the church.

Bedtime at 11:00 pm felt great.  Rain fell overnight.
