Wednesday, July 19: A New Day, A New House, and New Challenges

We hit the road early this morning because we had a 30 mile drive to get to our new work site. During the height of hurricane Katrina, Ms.. Bertha Watts and her family watched as their roof was blown off their house and over a hundred trees and came crashing down on their property. Since last August, she has been living in a travel trailer next to her house. In two weeks, the insurance company is picking up the trailer. The problem is that her house is not ready to live in. Some contractors she hired failed to finish their work on the house after being paid, leaving her and her family with a multitude of unfinished projects. We did a lot of painting again today. And we made a special new friend (look below -sooooweeee)

One of the highlights of our day was an afternoon thunderstorm that many group members found irresistible, check the pic below.

Tomorrow we head back to Ms. Watts home to finish up some projects. Tomorrow afternoon we are going sight seeing near the coast.

Again thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
