Thursday, July 20: A Short Day, Sort Of

We returned to Ms. Watts home today to continue the projects we started yesterday. We have all gotten pretty attached to her and we want to leave her much better off. We finished painting a couple of rooms and started a few new projects. We hope to go for one last day on Friday but that is up in the air.

We left at noon today because we wanted to check out New Orleans. What we saw was simply overwhelming. As we entered the city you could see block after block after block of devastated and deserted homes, apartment buildings, and other structures. We headed down to the French Quarter and had an authentic New Orleans dinner. While down in the French Quarter we met five other church mission groups and had some very fun conversations.

Plans are to work one last day tomorrow and start heading home about midnight. Keep the prayers flowing!
